Placing local at the forefront of building materials sourcing, Yoke created a site that helps connect projects with local material and service providers.

The Brief

Jason Arndt a LEED registered Architect and sustainability advocate came to us to create his vision of a site that connects architects with local products and service providers. The aim was to provide not only a valuable database of products but also the ability to create projects within the site that allowed users to save materials against each project. The focus here was on local so all search results were ordered based on locality to your project. Google maps was utilized effectively to help define location and view materials that were close to you.

The Final Designs

A clean minimal look was achieved to fall in line with an architectural influenced aesthetic whilst adding warmth through an earthy colour palette.

Logo and branding

The client provided a logo which he had created and we helped him modify it to make it feel more contemporary

Icons and site illustration

To illustrate the 18 different categories we created a suite of icons to illustrate each building product category. These were used through the site to add visual impact and improve useability.

When we think its appropriate we like to sprinkle some 3D magic onto a project, we did this subtly by creating a few simple 3D renders to illustrate the sites process on the homepage as well as placing them around the site to illustrate other pages.

The Results

The client was really happy with the finished product and is in full swing marketing the site and getting architects and project managers on board. The database is growing as we speak and more and more people are signing up everyday.

The site looks great and I can’t be more happy about how its developing. Just wanted to thank everyone.
